Not happy with your aging appearance? At Northpointe Ear Nose Throat & Cosmetic Surgery Center in Lapeer and Rochester, Dr. DouglasBotox Treatment Heygi and his aesthetic team use Botox to smooth the subtle and not so subtle signs of facial aging. Effective, quick, and comfortable, Botox works wonders for your appearance and your self-confidence, too.

What is BOTOX?

Believe it or not, it's a bacteria, highly processed to be safe and to treat areas of the face affected by dynamic wrinkling. Dynamic wrinkling happens where facial muscles contract when smiling and frowning. Corners of the eyes and mouth, between the eyebrows, and across the forehead are the usual places which show the wear and tear of years gone by.

In his Lapeer and Rochester offices, Dr. Heygi places Botox injectables directly under the skin, using a super fine needle. Almost immediately, the medication begins to limit muscular movement. Over the next three to four days, patients see the full effects: smoother, younger-looking skin with fewer lines and wrinkles. This rejuvenated look lasts four to six months or longer.

Who can get Botox injections?

Most healthy adults under the age of 65 qualify for Botox treatments. When you come to Northpointe Ear Nose Throat & Cosmetic Surgery Center, you'll be fully evaluated to assure that you receive the cosmetic treatment right for your skin type, aesthetic goals, and lifestyle. Most importantly, you'll understand the process fully as Dr. Heygi explains that the therapeutic effects of Botox are temporary. Repeat injections (every several months) maintain your new look, and your facial muscles actually learn how to relax more easily the more treatments you have.

Finally, Botox is great for people who do not want the expense and downtime of invasive cosmetic surgeries. Botox treatments take just minutes, and you can return to your normal activities right away. All you'll see is a little redness and puffiness around the injection sites, which will also resolve relatively quickly.

If you are interested in achieving a more youthful appearance, then Botox might be right for you. Botox is a nonsurgical cosmetic treatment botoxfor eliminating fine lines and wrinkles. Following treatment, the skin is smoother and you look younger. At Northpointe Ear Nose Throat & Cosmetic Surgery Center, Dr. Douglas Hegyi is your doctor for Botox in Rochester and Lapeer, MI.

Botox Injections

Botox is a cosmetic drug that can help you look younger. It is injected directly into the muscles of the face, neck, or chest to smooth the skin and soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox accomplishes these things by relaxing the muscles. When the muscles relax, the surrounding skin smooths out, which softens the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

In addition to helping you look younger, another exciting benefit of Botox is that results are immediate. At the end of your appointment, you’ll instantly notice smoother skin with fewer lines and wrinkles. Further, the positive effects of Botox can continue improving for up to two weeks following treatment so you’ll look more youthful than ever. Your Rochester and Lapeer doctor for Botox can help you decide if Botox treatment is right for you.

Benefits of Botox

Beyond simply helping you look younger, Botox treatments offer several additional benefits. For instance, by smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, Botox erases the constant look of fatigue, worry, or anger that can develop with age. Further, since Botox is administered by injection, there is no surgery, no recovery time, and results are immediate. The benefits of Botox treatments include:

  • Non-surgical procedure
  • Little to no recover time
  • Immediate results
  • A more youthful appearance
  • Eliminate fine lines and wrinkles
  • Smoother skin on the forehead, face, and neck
  • Minimize lines along the chest area

How Botox can erase the signs of agingbotox

When you look at your face in the mirror, do you like what you see? Do you still look as young as you used to, or do you notice fine lines and wrinkles, the first signs of aging? If you are starting to get fine lines and wrinkles, the good news is, you can fight back! The answer is Botox! Dr. Douglas Hegyi at Northpointe Ear Nose Throat & Cosmetic Surgery Center wants to share the facts about Botox. He has two convenient office locations in Lapeer and Rochester, MI to serve your needs.

Fine lines and wrinkles are the result of changes in your skin due to aging. As you get older, your skin becomes drier and its elasticity decreases. Your skin’s ability to “snap back” after frowning, laughing or showing other emotions is decreased. The result is fine lines and wrinkles beginning to show up around your eyes, mouth, nose and forehead.

Botox has a long history of safety and effectiveness in combating lines and wrinkles. Botox comes from a material produced by a bacterium known as Clostridium botulinum. It smoothes out the skin and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles by temporarily “freezing” the nerves and muscles near the treatment site. After Botox treatment, your skin will be noticeably smoother and more youthful looking.

Botox treatment can reduce the appearance of:

  • Crow’s feet; the lines at the corners of your eyes
  • Glabella; the lines between your eyebrows
  • Furrows; the lines in your forehead
  • Lines around your mouth and nose caused by smiling and laughing

Botox offers an easy, temporary way to minimize fine lines and wrinkles that can make you appear older. Dr. Douglas Hegyi, your botoxcosmetic surgeon at Northpointe Ear Nose Throat & Cosmetic Surgery Center in Lapeer and Rochester, MI, discusses how Botox treatment can help you look your best.

How does Botox work?

Botox targets dynamic wrinkles, which develop when you make facial expressions. When you receive Botox treatment, a small amount of the purified botulinum toxin is injected into the muscles under your skin. The toxin stops nerve signals from reaching your muscles and prevents the muscles from contracting. When the muscles no longer contract, the skin relaxes and those fine lines and wrinkles become less noticeable. Botox injections are temporary and usually last about three to six months. In order to maintain your appearance, you'll need to receive more injections periodically.

Can Botox in Lapeer and Rochester help me?

Botox injections are a good choice if you want to improve the appearance of:

Horizontal Lines on Your Forehead: Years of squinting, frowning and making other facial expressions can cause furrows that cross your forehead. Botox injections offer an excellent way to smooth out the skin on your brow.

Vertical Lines Between the Eyes: Lines between your eyes can make you look tired or angry when you're perfectly rested and in a great mood. After Botox treatment, the lines will gradually become much less obvious.

Crow's Feet: Laughing and smiling causes small wrinkles at the corners of your eyes. Botox treatment relaxes those wrinkles and helps you look more youthful.

Nasolabial Folds: Nasolabial folds, the lines that extend from your nose to your mouth, tend to become more pronounced with time. Botox injections offer a subtle way to improve the look of the folds.

Lines on Your Neck: Many people forget about their necks when considering cosmetic treatments. Unfortunately, lines and bands can make you look older, even if your face is line-free. Botox is just as effective on neck lines and bands as it is on facial wrinkles.

Turn back time with Botox treatments! Call Dr. Hegyi, your cosmetic surgeon at Northpointe Ear Nose Throat & Cosmetic Surgery Center in Lapeer and Rochester, MI, to schedule a Botox appointment.

Find out more about Botox and what it can do to give you a more youthful appearance.

We see all these commercials and ads about skincare products that boast quick and effective ways to smooth out wrinkles and make you Botoxinstantly appear younger. But if you’ve ever tried many of these over-the-counter products then you know that they don’t offer the instant, magic results they promise. Luckily your Lapeer, MI cosmetic surgeon Dr. Douglas Hegyi can treat fine lines and wrinkles effectively in only a few minutes with Botox.

What is Botox?

Botox is a popular brand name for a toxin that is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This toxin is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and is injected into the skin to actually stop the signals from the nerves to the muscles to prevent them from contracting.

What skin issues does Botox target?

If you are dealing with fine lines, wrinkles and facial creases then Botox may be able to help (but keep in mind that wrinkles caused by sun damage won’t respond to Botox treatments). These are some of the most common issues that our Lapeer cosmetic patients turn to Botox to treat:

  1. Crow’s feet
  2. Forehead wrinkles
  3. Frown lines

Can Botox actually prevent wrinkles?

Yes! Besides smoothing out current wrinkles and fine lines, Botox can also keep newer wrinkles at bay. Since certain muscles aren’t allowed to contract it makes it impossible for new wrinkles to form in these areas.

Can I get more than one Botox treatment?

Absolutely. While you won’t get Botox every week there are some patients who refresh their look after a few months to maintain their more youthful results. Plus, follow-up treatments don’t require the same amount of Botox as your first session to get the desired effect.

How is the Botox procedure performed?

Many of our patients turn to Botox because the procedure only takes a couple of minutes and doesn’t require anesthesia. Since your Lapeer, MI facial surgeon uses fine needles to inject Botox, there is only a slight stinging that occurs when the needle is inserted into the skin.

Once you get Botox your results should show up between three to seven days, and results can last anywhere from four to six months.

Interested in finding out how Botox could improve your skin? Then it’s time to talk to your Lapeer plastic surgeon at Northpointe Ear Nose Throat & Cosmetic Surgery Center. We can help you decide which treatment will give you the results you want.
